Looting, no matter for what reason it is done, is thievery. Some of the thieves on Coney Island "were running in and out of a Rent-A-Center carrying these big flatscreens." During a time of disaster, people should be focused on helping one another instead of seeking their personal interests. With all the damage already done, it is abominable to make the suffering of others worse because of selfish reasons. Others were "running out of a nearby Rite Aid with bags of diapers and wipes." I can understand that some people may be in need of supplies during the aftermath of the storm, and I think this can be justified. To seek necessities in a time of need is only natural. I believe looting is theft if it is for selfish reasons, but to survive it can be justified.

School Teacher Shoots Adopted Son
The state of Connecticut is sometimes referred to as "the nutmeg state," but now it is drawing attention as the father killing his own son state. Around 1 A.M., the 28 of September 2012, Jeffery Giuliano found a masked intruder attempting to enter into his neighbor's house. Upon impulse, Jeffery grabbed a handgun and shot the person to death.
After the shooting took place, Giuliano then proceeded to rest his bones on the curb, "unaware of the slain intruder's identity." When the police arrived they informed Old Jeffy boy that it was his son, Tyler, that he had maliciously slaughtered in cold blood, he then apeared to be in "utter shock." It is not specified if the police suspect foul play, but it should be considered. After all, the son was adopted. The father has not yet been charged with a crime, but the investigation continues.
A reason for Tyler trying to get into the house was not given, leaving the reader to wonder why he was behaving this way. Was he going to steal something? Was his father snoring obnoxiously? Was he out of toilet paper in the event of an emergency? Perhaps he was in a secret love relationship with the residents of that property. Nobody can say, for the answer died with this youth struck down in the prime of his delinquency.
The senior Giuliano reports that the victim advanced towards him with a shiny object. The object is not identified in the article, so it could be anything. It could have been a knife, a crowbar, a container of nail polish, some kind of silverware, or a microwave oven.
Giuliano, 44, is a beloved 5th grade school teacher, affectionately known to his students as "Mr. G." I assume this nickname came about because his last name is incredibly difficult to pronounce properly. The article did not clarify as to whether he has continued his work or not, but either way his return to the classroom will be incredibly akward.
I believe the moral of the story is clear. If you are a school teacher, do not buy a handgun. If you are adopted, don't try to enter your neighbor's homes at inappropriate times. If you are a shiny object, you will most likely become evidence in a crime scene. Although this event is tragic, we can all learn from it. Thank you, and get well soon.

Man Gets Porked By Vicious Swine
As you surely know by now, an epidemic of man eating pigs is sweeping the nation. A 70 year old hog farmer named Terry Garner was recently killed and consumed by these abhorrent creatures at his home in Oregon. He reportedly went out to feed the animals and did not return for several hours, at which time the family suspected something unusual was occurring.
When the family arrived at the scene of the senior's slaughter, they found only his dentures and some various body parts scattered throughout the enclosure. The police are still investigating how he "ended up in a position where the hogs were able to consume him." It could have been a heart attack, some pigs may have knocked him down, or it may have been an act of suicide. Potential foul play is being looked into.
What I wonder is, why did the family wait so long to retrieve the old man? Perhaps they abducted him in his sleep and deposited the unconscious man into the hog pen to be consumed. They may have wanted his property, or maybe he had some money put back, or perhaps he was simply a burden to the family. Nobody will know, for the answer lies in the bellies of the hogs.
The article did not clarify the current condition of the pigs. They possibly were killed, or maybe they will be used for food purposes. While reading this article, I could not help but wonder how a funeral will be held or the man. Will there be a casket? And if so, what will it contain? Perhaps his dentures will be buried, or the hogs, or the excrement from the animals which consumed the man.
The article clearly states, "this isn't the first time hogs have eaten their farmers." As I stated before, this is a tragic epidemic currently taking place. I'm sure for the family, bacon will never taste the same. Farmers beware, there is evil afoot.

Titanic Panic
The Titanic was truly a god among ships, the ultimate vessel ever crafted by the hands of man at it's time. If I were aboard this ship, the unsinkable titan of the ocean, I would never have had the premonition of such an exhilarating experience to be the deliverer of my terminus. I would probably have been a wealthy, upper class citizen caught in the web of sophistication and conceited entertainment that life has to offer for those few lucky people. But, on the date of April 15, 1912, there was not a soul above or below deck concerned with drinking champagne or indulging themselves in the glory of a thick wallet. They were all human at that time, helpless and hopeless as they frantically raced to ensure their own safety, trapped within their own pandemonium because an authority had refused to inform them of their danger. The captain of the ship had known of the icebergs yet ignored them and continued his pace. Eventually, everybody found themselves competing to secure a position in a lifeboat, even the ship officers whose duty was to maintain order. But I do not blame them. In such a situation, all sense of consciousness is lost to the primitive instinct to survive. There was only the will to escape and to distance themselves from that immense distress as much as possible. I could not convict the survivors of this tragedy for living, for if I had been in their position I would likely have acted as they did, as anyone would have, I believe.

Pity
When a man is stripped of all his lifelong liberties to the point of bare humanity, I believe that emotions such as pity are inevitably evoked by the condition of this person, no matter who they may be. This SS soldier in the hospital sought the pity of a Jewish man whose heritage he had unknowingly damaged, "but had he any right to pity?" No matter if he deserves it or not, most people would find sympathy for the soldier. Since he has proclaimed that his acts were carried out in ignorance and he sincerely repents for his atrocities, it is my personal opinion that the soldier deserves at least pity for the agony that he experiences, regardless of the suffering he had caused.

Laws Of Forgiveness
"For over 20 years, a warlord kidnaps children, forcing them to be soldiers or sex slaves." This sentence applies to the tyrant leader of LRA, Joseph Kony. I chose this example from the handout because it is especially terrible and is the worst situation explained on the paper, therefore it strengthens my answer whether or not the listed acts deserve forgiveness. My answer to all these questions was "yes." I answer this way because the Bible explains that we are to forgive all men if we expect to be forgiven, and that God will judge everyone according to their actions. It is not my position to convict those who have done wrong, for I myself have done wrong, and it does not matter to what degree of extremity a person practices foul things I must forgive because I have been instructed to forgive all who have committed evil deeds.
