Laws Of Forgiveness

"For over 20 years, a warlord kidnaps children, forcing them to be soldiers or sex slaves." This sentence applies to the tyrant leader of LRA, Joseph Kony. I chose this example from the handout because it is especially terrible and is the worst situation explained on the paper, therefore it strengthens my answer whether or not the listed acts deserve forgiveness. My answer to all these questions was "yes." I answer this way because the Bible explains that we are to forgive all men if we expect to be forgiven, and that God will judge everyone according to their actions. It is not my position to convict those who have done wrong, for I myself have done wrong, and it does not matter to what degree of extremity a person practices foul things I must forgive because I have been instructed to forgive all who have committed evil deeds.

  1. Your example is very relevant today. I appreciate the inclusion of your beliefs to explain your reasons for forgiving such a vile man.

  2. although the bible says that every man should be forgiven, we dont exactly live by the rules of the bible today. if that was the case, people wouldnt be in prison just for stealing something. i believe that you should be forgiven for some things but not this.

  3. I agree that government should exact justice upon those who have done wrong, even in the Bible this is obviously found. But that is not the point I am making. It is the duty of every individual to forgive if we expect to be forgiven. Truly, not everyone lives by the Bible, but everybody should.
